More reasons to travel green thanks to new mobile app
A new mobile app aims to incentivise Birmingham residents to form greener and healthier travel habits with the offer of weekly prizes.
The Active Travel Birmingham app, which is now available to download, will encourage people to walk, cycle, scoot or use public transport for everyday journeys.
Users can log their journeys to gain points and climb the leaderboards, with prizes up for grabs for the best performing individuals and teams during the initial challenge period, which runs until 4 November 2022.
The introduction of the free app was welcomed by Councillor Liz Clements, Cabinet Member for Transport at Birmingham City Council, who said:
"The Active Travel Birmingham app is another step in our mission to improve the quality of our air in the city. By using the app, residents can change their travel habits, team up with friends, family, schoolmates and colleagues, and make green travel pay in more ways than one."
The Active Travel Birmingham app is now available for free through Apple's App Store and Google Play.
